Learn to make healthy meals. This series of 4 classes will take participants through each stage of the preparation, freezing, and cooking process of flavor packed freezer meals.
Freezer meals not only help save time, they can also help you save money and reduce food waste. US households lose, on average, 1/3 of food purchases to waste. Reclaim your food with the Freeze It! program.
Attendees will receive:
- a four-portion take-home meal each class composed of that lesson's recipes.
- an activity guide featuring key freezer-meal and waste reduction tips taught in class.

The class is $40.00 per person and participants can register online or at the Gasconade County Extension Center, 1106 Hwy 28, Owensville, MO 65066. 573-437-2165
Scholarships are offered for participants for which the course cost is prohibitive.
Time/ Location:
MU Extension’s new Freezer Meal Solutions course invites locals of all skill levels into the kitchen. The interactive cooking class is scheduled for four re-occurring Tuesdays, May 23rd, 30th, June 6th, and 13th from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, MO
Participants will practice time saving measures of bulk meal prep. and planning. Recipes will incorporate a variety of fresh, canned, or previously frozen ingredients just like a real home kitchen.
The Freeze It! program is hosted by MU Extension with support from the Ozark Rivers Solid Waste Management District to instruct on key skills of food waste management through food preservation techniques. The course also supports healthy life choices.
